Crystal Booth, Regional Manager at PSC Biotech®, was congratulated late last week for writing the ninth most read guest expert article in Pharmaceutical Online this year, Applying Aseptic Practices to Protect Yourself From COVID-19.  Crystal has over 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical microbiology, environmental monitoring, and quality assurance and holds a Master’s degree in microbiology from North Carolina State University.  Crystal is an award-winning technical writer and author of Method Development and Validation for the Pharmaceutical Microbiologist.  During her career, Crystal has worked in microbiology, consulting, quality assurance, contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs), R&D, and quality control laboratories.  Crystal has developed and validated numerous microbial methods and has worked with many different products.

A former colleague wrote “I worked in the same department as Crystal for several years at Eisai, in different work groups. We worked very closely on a technical transfer with a manufacturing site in Japan, and then again on a separate project in an earlier stage of development. I found Crystal to be an excellent scientist with great attention to detail who excels at communication. Crystal is extremely knowledgeable about microbiology methods, tech transfer, and validation.” (Regina Madalena).

Crystal provides microbiology, environmental control, and quality assurance consulting and training for PSC clients. She also travels to guide and conduct customer audits, both domestically and internationally. Crystal is also a Public Speaker and Trainer, creating and teaching courses in microbiology, including aseptic training.
